Tucked in the green hillside of Višnjička Banja, this family home captures the spirit of country living—reimagined for the modern city lifestyle. Designed by Mina Jevdjenovic, the project blends rustic textures, soft industrial notes, and refined detailing to create a home that feels both cozy and contemporary.
The client’s wish was simple yet layered: a warm, welcoming house that evokes the comfort of the countryside—without feeling like a cabin. The result is a harmonious balance between natural materials and urban sensibility, where every detail has its story and purpose.
A Palette That Feels Like Home
The color palette leans into calm and natural hues: green, cream, and white, anchored by black accents for contrast. Natural oak wood runs through the entire house, grounding the design in warmth. The textures—stone, wood, and metal—create a tactile, lived-in feel that instantly invites you to unwind.
The Heart of the Home: Fireplace & Living Area
At the center of the house, the stone fireplace steals the spotlight—a timeless focal point that sets the mood for the entire interior. It anchors the open living area, connecting family gatherings, quiet evenings, and everyday rituals with a sense of authenticity.
Soft fabrics and vintage-inspired armchairs add a nostalgic charm, while industrial lighting fixtures introduce a modern edge that keeps the space fresh and relevant.
Craftsmanship & Character in Every Detail
From the custom sliding wooden doors to the handcrafted dining table, the space celebrates craftsmanship. Each piece is chosen not for decoration, but for story and feel. Subtle retro touches—like curved furniture lines and textured upholstery—add personality without breaking the home’s elegant rhythm.
Design Challenge: Finding the Balance
The biggest challenge was merging rustic coziness with industrial refinement—creating a space that feels warm but not heavy, stylish but not sterile. Mina achieved this balance through a carefully curated mix of materials and an intuitive understanding of proportion and light.
